Rhea Chalak
President
Rhea is the President of NTU Film Society. She is also an English Literature and Art History student. In theory she reads, writes and watches everything esoteric; but in practice she reads her Twitter feed, rambles on her Substack, and watches Instagram reels.
-

Phyllis Chan Yu Jie
VIce-President
Phyllis is an undergraduate in English Literature and Art History (and also NTU Film Society's Honorary General Secretary). Constantly rambling on all things cultural, she finds herself defending contemporary art and "so bad, it's good" media. If you ever need useless information (e.g. how the man who bought the segway company died riding his segway off a cliff, etc.), Phyllis can be found on Instagram (@yuzuwyd) and Substack: https://yuzuwyd.substack.com/.

Eliza Toh Si Ying
Honorary Secretary General
Eliza Toh is the Honorary General Secretary in NTU Film Society, majoring in Communications and Information. As a retired science fiction and fantasy novel nerd, she now finds comfort in watching films and chatting with people. You can often spot her with three drinks in hand, two of which will be caffeinated. She has little desire to be perceived on social media, yet she will force you to add her on Letterboxd and Storygraph.
-

Kumar Preetham
Treasurer
Preetham is the Treasurer in NTU Film Society, majoring in Computer Engineering. His body is heavily caffeinated, so there is never a dull moment with him. Being the experienced yapper that he is, you might need a pause button for his conversations. He spends more effort coming up with one line reviews for his Letterboxd, than securing his internships. If you see him around, don’t forget to say hi!
-
Siti Noor Aisha Binte Jumari
Business Manager
Aisha Jumari is the Business Manager in NTU Film Society and a current major in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies. She is passionate about graphic design and spends her time overheating her MacBook, trying to run Adobe Suite. You can find her watching the latest horror movies (her favourite movie genre, btw) and dissecting fan theories on Reddit. You can read more on her lore at https://aishajumari2003.wixsite.com/my-site.
Content Creators
-
Basbas Elisha Raphaelle Patal
Basbas Elisha is the one third of the content creation team in NTU Film Society and an undergraduate in Communications. She is a Filipino graphic designer and visual artist who regularly designs work on her Instagram (@avecyuno) of her current hyperfixations in media such as music, films, and shows. Perhaps you’ll hear her in the theater when the title screen comes yelling, “I know that font!” Consider reaching out to her if you need a sitcom recommendation.
-

Sng Hui Yee
Hui Yee makes up one-third of the content creation team at NTU Film Society and is majoring in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies. She is a curious soul who loves finding fun and thoughtful ways to experience life. Her creative experiments span websites, zines, graphic design, illustration, and videography, and she enjoys the chaotic yet satisfying process of turning ideas into reality. Beyond her creative work, she has a soft spot for horror, often sneaking in short scary clips on her phone (never on the big screen).

Programmers
-
Umar Al Khair
Umar is one of the programmers in Film Society. Currently majoring in Public Policy & Global Affairs (It’s just NTU’s self-important name for politics). Umar is a sleep deprived student who dreams of the death of capitalist love but struggles to hand in assignments. If ever you find yourself lying awake at night with ideas of picking up a placard, locking arms with friends and marching self importantly down Victoria Street, I’m your person!
-

Janani Johnson
Janani is a programmer in NTU Film Society and an English Literature major. She enjoys media which explore the complexity of the human condition. She also serves as secretary for NTU CAC Media and Infotech, where she does photography and videography. In her free time, she’s usually reading or trying to play the electric guitar.
-

You Geo Yi
Geo Yi is one of the Programmers in NTU Film Society and is currently majoring in Economics and Data Science. Geo Yi loves to romanticise his suffering (or lack thereof) and is always more than willing to pounce on the opportunity to talk someone's ears off about some weird and obscure music album.
-

Li Jie Xin (Jenny)
Jenny is the unsettling vision you get out of the corner of your eye when it's just a little bit too late and you are just a little bit too sleepy. She is also a Philosophy Major and an Art History minor. She is an artist (oil painting) and working on creation alongside consumption of beautiful films and media. She also runs a music community discussing genres from IDM to Dungeon Synth. Reach out if you really like film or music! instagram: rust4ngel
Editors-in-Chief
-

Venesya Mayvelie Kosasi
Venesya is one of the editors-in-chief for NTU Film Society haunted by way too many hyperfixations. She is majoring in English and has been running a book blog on instagram (@teacupbooks) since 2019 where she reviews (goes on rants about) books, creates content, and works with authors and publishers such as Penguin Random House SEA. When not watching films/shows or reading, she can be found spending too much time making an edit of DC characters on capcut. https://www.instagram.com/teacupbooks_

Goh Cheng Hao
Cheng Hao is the other half of the editors-in-chief-contingent of Film Society. Hours on Instagram reels has obliterated his attention span and caused irreversible neurological damage, and as a result he hides behind the pretence of loving experimental short film. He loves the intersections and gaps between moving images, text, art, and writing, and talks about them on Substack. Do NOT talk to him about yearning.
